At CMU, we believe in standing apart from the crowd.
As one of the few universities designated by the state as a selective institution for admissions, we believe in hard work and proving yourself. Our students are intellectually curious and incredibly driven.
We believe that higher education can be more responsive, more demanding and more personal. In today’s complex world our focus is simple: preparing students for a changing world by giving them the knowledge and tools they need to flourish long after they graduate. Our single job is to prepare students, in the words of Thoreau, to go confidently in the direction of their dreams.
Nobody knows the inside information better than our current students, and nobody is more helpful than the students we’ve handpicked to be our Ambassadors. They’re happy to share their experiences, give you the scoop on the campus, and help you through the admission process. Meet the Ambassadors. Read their blog. They’re here to help.
This calculator is designed to give new students an idea of what merit scholarships they may be eligible for and is based on GPA and test score. Class rank is also taken into consideration in actual scholarship awarding. For full criteria visit the scholarships page.

Colorado Mesa University Admissions | CMU student Justin Hofferber, who tragically died over the weekend in a hiking accident, was a first semester theatre student and singer in CMU Concert Choir.
This Wednesday, Oct. 8th at 7:30pm is the CMU Fall Choral Concert in Robinson Theatre. The programming includes Concert Choir performing a beautiful, powerful and healing work which will be dedicated to Justin and his family entitled In Remembrance. The song was originally written for a high school singer, and members of her family, who also died tragically in an accident.
The CMU Department of Music is offering this concert to the entire CMU community and has waived ticket fees for CMU students, faculty and staff who wish to attend. Please show your CMU identity card at the box office for free admittance to this fall concert. The concert also features the CMU Chamber Choir, Women’s Choir, the Vocal Jazz ensemble “Vocal Chords” and guest solo groups, the amazing male trio “Il Divo Colorado” and new madrigal quartet “Echoes”.
